Mill-Stones

This post is available also in: Italian

This is the middle apartment of the Mulino di Rimaggio and originally the oldest part of the complex. Here the old water chutes used to pass through this part of the building, and when the mill was converted we decided to keep them in place. Now they can be seen through special glass windows in the living room flooring and also in the garden when all the oldest and original portions of the Mulino di Rimaggio are picturesquely illuminated at night.

Features:

The “Mill-Stones” is on three floors, connected by an easy wooden staircase. On the ground floor, that once housed the mill stones, there is now a spacious living room, with fireplace, that opens directly onto the garden on the banks of the stream. The kitchen, also on this floor, is very large and rather particular because one of the walls still has the large blocks of rock on which the Mill was originally built. On the second floor there is a spacious double bedded room with bathroom and a twin bedded room with its own adjacent bathroom. This floor opens directly onto the pool area. A staircase leads to the Tower that has been converted into a small twin bedded room. The tower window offers a magnificent view over the pool and the gentle cultivated hills of the village of Montegonzi.
