THE BORRO DI RIMAGGIO STREAM
---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---x---

The waters of the Borro di Rimaggio rise in the Chianti Mountains and runs down-hill to flow into the River Arno.

The water is particularly pure as testified by the presence of crabs and craw fishes, fishes and frogs.

From autumn to spring the water, continually fed by the rain and snow from the nearby mountains, flows turbulently over the river bed.

In summer, like all Mediterranean rivers, the flow rate falls considerably, also because the course of the stream is deviated to irrigate the fields.

But this is the very time of the year when it is possible to paddle out to the middle of the stream and cool down every now and then in one of the many natural pools to enjoy the rich plant life on the banks from a different angle.
