The Mulino di Rimaggio is located in an area of great historical and naturalistic interest, where internationally recognised cultural manifestations are regularly organised. The Valdarno is home to some of the most famous and beautiful Romanesque Abbeys in Italy. Further back in history in the nearby city Montevarchi you can visit the Palaeontology Museum, the third most important in the world regarding the Pliocene. Another wonder not to miss is the Basilica di Santa Maria alle Grazie in the nearby city of San Giovanni Valdarno. In this Church you can admire the most famous works of Masaccio (who was born in this city), Beato Angelico and Giovanni da San Giovanni. At Cavriglia, just 3 km away, is the famous Carla Fineschi Rose Garden, one of the finest collections of roses in Europe with 7,000 varieties. In May and June the flowers are a rare spectacle of colour and scents. You only have to look out of the window from the Mill's bedrooms for a magnificent view of the Medieval Borgo of Montegonzi, one of the most important in the area. Just 8 km away in the heart of the Chianti area, why not visit the old Abbey of Badia at Coltibuono? Its celebrated farm produces one of the best Chianti Classico wines and one of the most prized olive oils in the world.
A little further and you are already in legendary cities like Siena. Florence and Arezzo, renowned for their beauty, historical importance and artistic heritage as well as there cultural events.
